Play therapy is a type of psychotherapy that meets children at their developmental level by using a child's most natural learning process: play. Rather than having to state their needs and feeling verbally, children are better able to express themselves using tools such as drawings, pretend play and sand tray. This process is more natural for children, and they are able to engage easily with a therapist.
One of the primary goals of any psychotherapy is to create a therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client.
